(137) There may be an urgent need to take action to protect the rights and freedoms of data subjects, in particular where there is a risk that the enforcement of the right held by the data subject may be significantly hindered, and the supervisory authority should therefore be able to adopt duly justified provisional measures within its territory for a fixed period of validity which should not exceed three months.
