Are natural persons running sole proprietorships also classified as natural persons?
ANSWER
Sole proprietorships registered in CEIDG are subject to GDPR protection, like any natural person whose data is processed. Polish law contains no special regulations excluding the application of personal data protection provisions to natural persons running sole proprietorships.
For reminder only, it should be noted that Article 50 of the Act of 6 March 2018 on the Central Registration and Information on Business and the Information Point for Entrepreneurs no longer applies; it provided: "The provisions of the Act of 29 August 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data do not apply to public data and information made available through CEIDG, except for the provisions of Articles 14–19a and 21–22a and Chapter 5 of that Act."
