(34) Genetic data should be defined as personal data relating to the inherited or acquired genetic characteristics of an individual derived from the analysis of a biological sample of that individual, in particular from the analysis of chromosomes, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) or from the analysis of other elements enabling equivalent information to be obtained.
