What Process Did the European Commission Follow When Developing the SCCs?
ANSWER
When preparing the two sets of SCCs, the European Commission sought input from stakeholders in order to better understand practical realities, actual needs, and lessons learned from the use of the existing SCCs.
The Commission received detailed feedback from a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- industry representatives;
- civil society organizations;
- legal practitioners; and
- academic experts.
This feedback was gathered through:
- the GDPR Multistakeholder Expert Group;
- broad public consultations;
- dedicated workshops;
- discussion panels; and
- independent studies commissioned from external institutions.
The above answer is based on an official document of the European Commission.
