From 13 to 17 March I attended the "Course for Information Security Administrators" organized by ODO 24 sp. z o.o. I am very impressed with the high substantive level of the training staff and the comprehensive program. Working as an ABI requires knowledge not only of legal provisions but also of IT matters, which ODO 24 took into account. Noteworthy is the curriculum, which gradually introduces increasingly advanced nuances of personal data protection, starting from the legal basics and ending with practical aspects of auditing and working with documents within a company. Staff training is one of the most effective data protection measures. The controller, or if appointed, the data protection officer, is responsible for conducting it. From experience, we know that the best training is with a "live" trainer.
GDPR training should be attended by employees who process personal data as part of their duties, e.g. client, employee, or contractor data.
It is also worth training employees who do not process data but come into contact with it, e.g. cleaning staff who clean offices unsupervised. Lack of awareness among such employees can lead to very serious consequences.
The training participants tell us that what was important to them was that the course was as practical as possible; knowledge was taught in a simple way, without excessive vocabulary accumulation; the instructor was a practitioner, often referring to specific industry examples.
It's a good practice every year. Why? The reason is simple - our organization is changing, new technology and IT solutions are emerging, new regulations are changing, and by training our employees and contractors every year, we show that our organization cares about this very important area.
