Commission reports

1. By May 25, 2020, and every four years thereafter, the Commission shall submit to the European Parliament and the Council reports on the evaluation and review of this Regulation. These reports shall be made public.
2. As part of these evaluations, the Commission shall analyze and review as referred to in paragraph 1, in particular the application and operation of the regulations:
(a) Chapter V concerning the transfer of personal data to third countries or international organizations, with particular reference to decisions adopted pursuant to Article 45(3) of this Regulation and decisions adopted pursuant to Article 25(6) of Directive 95/46/EC;
(b) Chapter VII on cooperation and coherence.
3. For the purposes of paragraph 1, the Commission may request information from Member States and supervisory authorities.
4. In conducting the evaluations and reviews referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2, the Commission shall take into account the positions and findings of the European Parliament, the Council and other relevant entities or sources.
5. If necessary, the Commission shall submit appropriate proposals providing for the amendment of this Regulation, taking into account, in particular, developments in information technology and progress in the information society.
