(21) This Regulation shall be without prejudice to the application of Directive 2000__UPTH_1__ of the European Parliament and of the Council*, and in particular to the principles of liability of intermediary service providers referred to in Article 1215 thereof, which is intended to contribute to the proper functioning of the internal market by ensuring the free movement of information society services between Member States.
