(171) Directive 95/46/EC should be repealed by this Regulation. Processing that is already in progress on the date of application of this Regulation should, within two years of the entry into force of this Regulation, be brought into compliance with its provisions. If the processing has as its basis consent pursuant to Directive 95/46/ EC, the data subject does not have to give consent again if the original method of giving consent complies with the terms of this Regulation; this allows the controller to continue processing after the date of application of this Regulation. Decisions adopted by the Commission and authorizations issued by supervisory authorities under Directive 95/46/EC shall remain in force until amended, replaced or repealed.
